ERICA BANKSII FOUND, BUT THE MIMETES PALUSTRIS REMAINS ELUSIVE!

A group of Bot. Soc. members went up Aasvoelkop yesterday to find the Erica banksii subsp. purpurea which had been seen by a group from Kirstenbosch.
What a treat it was to see this beautiful Erica in profusion, adorning the rocks and on the slope of Aasvoelkop.
The search then continued for the Mimetes palustris which has been seen in the same area in the past.  But no luck this time.  Hopefully winter time will be more successful.
