From the Visitors’ Book in the Visitors’ Centre, Fernkloof

During October and November, as well as many visitors from far and near in South Africa, travellers from 13 different countries signed the Visitors’ Book (Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Israel, Kenya, Malawi, Turkey, Switzerland, UK and USA).   Comments were almost entirely positive, including praise for the well-maintained paths, the flower display and information at the Visitors’ Centre, the map and Frank’s guided walks.   The only criticism from one visitor was that Fernkloof is not easy to find and needs better signage.   The comment from a former Curator of Chelsea Physic Garden: “Don’t put a road through here”!

This is very good news. Well done all. I agree signage is not good enough. Why is there not a big brown signage just before the turnoff into Fernkloof. There also should be a sign at the turnoff opposite the NGK  to go towards Checkers. There are good signs for the Botanical gardens of Somerset West. Kind regards Patty Blignaut.
