Such gorgeous little lemon balls!

Vic Hamilton-Attwell photographed these tiny citrus-yellow aphids (Olender aphids, or Aphis nerii) on the post fire plants of Aspidoglossum heterophyllum. The plants have been flowering in the burn over the last few weeks. The plants were very small only reaching 8-10 cm in height, the flowers only a couple of millimetres in width!
They were seen only on the Aspidoglossum and not on any other plants in the area.
