Hermanus Flower Festival 22-25 Sept “Fynbos & Fire”

WHAT’S ON ALL DAY EVERYDAY?

  • Fantastic Fynbos & Fire Floral Display
  • Hundreds of individual flowers, each botanically identified
  • Poster exhibit of rare orchid find in Fernkloof the Disa forficaria
  • Photographic display of re-growth after fireFynbos plants for your garden for sale from the Indigenous Nursery
  • Marquee exhibit by local environmental organisations
  • Exhibit of original art work by Vivienne Mitchley’s art students
  • Hermanus Botanical Society stall: quality nature-themed goods for sale
  • Fresh fynbos flower bunches for sale
  • Tea & Coffee with cake and light lunches with a glass of wine in the Fynbos Café
  • Self-guided annotated walk through the burnt area of Lemoenkop from the Visitors Centre
  • Fabulous Raffle prizes to be won! Tickets R10 for 1, R50 for 6

WHAT’S SPECIAL ON  THURSDAY 22nd SEPTEMBER

Pensioners Day:  entry fee  for pensioners is R10

  • 9– 4pm:  Guided visits by learners from local Primary Schools
  • 1 – 4pm:   Face Painting – your favourite flower,beetle, snake or spider!  (Donation)
  • 3 – 4pm:   Slithering Fynbos:  snake demo in the amphitheatre

WHAT’S SPECIAL ON  FRIDAY 23rd SEPTEMBER

  • 9 – 4pm:  Alpacas are back!
  • 9 – 1pm:  Guided visits by learners from local Primary Schools
  • 11 – 12 noon:  Slithering Fynbos:  snake demo in the amphitheatre
  • 1 – 4pm:   Face Painting – your favourite flower, beetle, snake or spider!  (Donation)
  • 2.30 – 4pm:  Fynbos, Fire & Frogs:  an Eco-Experience in Fernkloof  with Whale Coast Conservation (R100  fee:  apply on site or through anina.wcc@gmail.com)

WHAT’S SPECIAL ON  SATURDAY 24th  SEPTEMBER

  • 9 – 4pm: Alpacas are back!
  • 10.30 – 11.30: Treasure Hunt for little ones (R10)
  • 11 am: Bill Liltved answers questions about orchids and the rare Disa forficaria
  • 12 – 1pm: Slithering Fynbos: snake demo in the amphitheatre
  • 1 – 4pm: Face Painting – your favourite flower, beetle, snake or spider!  (Donation)
  • 2 – 3pm: Kids, join the “Clueless Calamity Challenge”!
  • 1 – 2.30pm: Fynbos, Fire and Frogs: an Eco-Experience in Fernkloof with Whale Coast Conservation (R100  fee:  apply on site or through  anina.wcc@gmail.com)
  • 3 – 4pm: Join Photowalkers Macro & Close-up Photography workshop (R100 fee:  apply to  Leanne  funtimes@photowalkers.com)
